It's Crunch Time!

I cannot believe there are only 23 days left until school is over! That means that the presentation for this class is right around the corner. This week and next week I am really going to have to work hard, in order to prepare for this final. This class is about the only final I really have to take because all others I am exempt from! I need to really put together my brochure and print out my blogs and journal entries, so that way I can hand them all out to my evaluators. It's hard to believe all of this is coming to an end, and boy am I nervous for this presentation! Hopefully, all the good comes out of this class! (:

Rain Rain, Go Away...Come Again Another Day!

Rain is Falling

Rain, rain, its always raining,
Rain, rain, I end up saying,
Rain, rain, please go away now,
Rain, rain, just leave right now,
Rain, rain, don’t know how,
I don’t care how, To make my rainy day just go away…
So I stand, in the pouring rain,
So I can, feel the growing pain,
Of having rain, coming down like the Armageddon flame.
I can see raindrops playing their game,
Even though they look the same,
I know that there is more to rain……

Relatives grieve for Texas woman with flu who died

I read an article about a 33 year old lady from Texas, who died from swine flu, after giving birth to a healthy baby girl. She was hospitalized for two weeks, after the doctors reported she had some kind of flu, they just didn't know exactly what kind. Since her state borders with Mexico, the flu is spreading slowly but surely into the US. Many people were very upset when she passed away and they had to celebrate her daughter's birth, but Judy Trunnell's death. Trunnell was also a teacher who taught disabled children, so imagine how her students feel and what they have to go through now. I think it is crazy how the swine flu basically appeared out of nowhere. Now with the technology today, we can treat people who have swine flu, in order to save lives. Since she died of the flu, now we know symptoms and everything of this illness, which makes it a lot easier for the doctors to detect!

My Sponsor..

It has been a little while since I've visited my sponsor, although I still have been e-mailing and staying in touch with her. The elementary school is taking the NJASK test, so that is why I am unable to visit there. I won't be able to go back until next week, the week of the 11th, which is a problem too because the senior trip starts that week. =/ So I will have to wait until the following week to go back. When I go back I will be teaching the students a math lesson, possibly using the SmartBoard. My sponsor and I have been going back and forth with what to teach and when, so I am in the process of putting the plans together! I cannot wait to get up and actually teach the lesson because it will be at that moment, that this all seems real! (:

Quotes & Sayings That Caught My Eye (:

If a doctor, lawyer, or dentist had 40 people in his office at one time, all of whom had different needs, and some of whom didn't want to be there and were causing trouble, and the doctor, lawyer, or dentist, without assistance, had to treat them all with professional excellence for nine months, then he might have some conception of the classroom teacher's job. ~Donald D. Quinn

The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called "truth." ~Dan Rather

A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others. ~Author UnknownLeave it to Beaver-->

The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. ~William Arthur Ward

The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book. ~Author Unknown

“I like a teacher who gives you something to take home to think about besides homework.” Lilly Tomlin

My Anecdote

My third and fourth grade teachers were the inspiration I have to become an elementary school teacher. They made class fun and worth being there. In elementary school I loved going to school because my teachers were like my mother, they seemed to love their job and have a true passion for it. My fourth grade teacher, Ms. Basile really inspired me to pursue a career in teaching. She actually gave me teacher's edition books because in my spare time when I was younger, I used to play school with my younger brother and cousin. They were my students and I was always the teacher. My playroom was actually set up as a classroom. I had everything- from the chalkboard and whiteboard, to student desks and a teachers desk. It was just something I loved to do and that is why today I really want to be a REAL teacher!

Softball Today...

Today, we have a great chance of beating one of our teams in our conference- Paulsboro! (: I am really excited to go towards a win because it would make me feel great. I cannot wait for the game today, I am definitely stoked for it. Our team needs to work together, as a team and we will be set! Each and every player needs to get in their "game mode" and put on their "game face." We need to go out there willing to play our A-game and be on our toes for being competitive. (: Hopefully, it will be our third win of the season!!
